People often wonder why cars have become a necessity, they say “Why can’t people just walk?” Well, there are many answers to that. Some people don’t need a reason, they just can’t live without cars. But for me, I am so fascinated by cars that I imagine myself driving every day, going around anywhere, without having to ask or wait for anyone. That is how much liberty and freedom a single mode of transport can give. My brother would drive me around the neighborhood as a kid and do many stunts which would amaze me.
Firstly, work and economic necessity are the reasons why many individuals feel like owning a car is a requirement for employment, especially in industries where public transportation options are scarce. Jobs in fields such as sales, delivery, or construction often require workers to travel long distances and to multiple places on the same day.
Secondly, it gives an individual a feeling of personal freedom and flexibility. A car offers a sense of autonomy, allowing individuals to travel whenever and wherever they choose. This freedom can be especially important in emergencies or when planning spontaneous trips.
It also offers comfort and privacy. Not everyone enjoys going on public transportation or even carpooling with their own friends. Unlike public transportation, cars offer a degree of privacy, security, and personal space, making it comfortable to travel.
Cars can also be used as mobility tools as cars are essential for getting around, providing people with the freedom and flexibility to travel where they want. Unlike public transport, which runs on fixed schedules, cars allow for spontaneous trips and are especially useful in areas where buses or trains aren’t available. If owning a car is not an option for you, you can always use public transportation or other options such as bicycles, electric scooters, walking, carpooling, trains, and car rentals
Since the last generation, many things have changed, especially cars. Now there are self-driving cars, where cars can drive themselves, without the need for a driver. I wonder how people survived when cars were not accessible. Did they walk long distances or create innovations such as bullock carts to solve the problem of independence and mobility?
Overall, the future of cars will be defined by cleaner, smarter, and more efficient vehicles. Now that I have pretty much shown my interest in cars let me show you why I am so fascinated by cars that I could go on and on about them. When I was around 4 or 5 my brother was a pro at driving cars and knew a lot about them. When he would drive I would look at the way he turned the steering wheel, how he changed the gears, and how he stepped on the accelerator, I was so intrigued by the concept of driving that I desperately wanted to give it a shot! Alas, I am only 11 years old.
